I was able to make reservations for me and Larry at the Hog Island Oyster Boat Dock on Christmas Eve. Hog Island Oyster Company is located in Marshall, California, on Tomales Bay. The oysters were worth the trip alone! They tasted amazing! The oysters are farmed in Tomales Bay by the Hog Island Oyster Company. The Boat Dock also has picnic tables and grills you can rent. They will sell you fresh oysters you can take home or grill there yourself. The Boat Dock’s specialty are the barbecued oysters which are grilled with bourbon, chipotle, butter, and garlic. Those were my favorite. The Boat Dock also has a wonderful view overlooking Tomales Bay.
While you are visiting Marshall, you can take a drive north up to Bodega Bay where the Alfred Hitchcock movie, The Birds, was filmed. There are still some buildings and the Tides Wharf & Restaurant from the movie that are extant.
