Glen Alpine Springs Resort

Glen Alpine Springs Resort was my first destination on my two hour drive from Sacramento. I was a docent here for a summer in 2006. As I drove the narrow, bumpy road around Fallen Leaf Lake, I was reminded of the remoteness and hefty price for this location in the mountains. The road ends with a parking lot for the Glen Alpine Springs Trailhead. I felt lucky to get a parking spot on a Sunday at 9:30 am. The Resort is a 1 mile hike up the trail. As I walked, the features of the trail came back to me, the buildings, creek, rocks. I first came to the tree with the signs pointing out the direction of the buildings. I had been able to go inside the buildings when I was a docent. Today, the windows were already boarded with corrugated metal to protect them from the winter elements. I have not been able to find many photos of the Resort, so I was eager to get and post them.
