I met Susan Sulc back home, in Edwardsville, IL, when she was visiting her mother Marilyn, who volunteers at the Madison County Library. I worked at the Madison County Museum, located in the same complex as the Library, prior to taking this job. Susan works at the MacRostie Winery educating patrons on where the grapes come from, and how they are grown and develop their distinctive tastes.
It was a wonderful treat to drink wine on the patio and talk to Susan. The weather was beautiful as I drove the narrow, curvy roads through the hills and vineyards. MacRostie is located in the Russian River Valley where the ocean breezes come over the hills and fog hovers. I tasted some great Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs.
