Heavy rains, flooding, high winds, mudslides, and storm surge caused widespread damage throughout the state of California, impacting many counties during the incident period January 3-12 and February 1-23, 2017.
I flew into San Francisco on February 27 to report to the Region IX office in Oakland. I was in Oakland a few days before being sent to Sacramento to the Joint Field Office.
From Sacramento, I was sent to the Field Office in Redding, California on April 20th. I remained there until I left on rotation August 11. I reported back to the office in Sacramento on August 28.
I will go back to post wonderful sites I visited throughout Northern California, but I’m beginning with the visit I made to San Francisco on Labor Day weekend.
Feel free to make comments and contact me with any questions. Let’s get this blog started!
Hi Casey,
Really good job! Your blog looks great.
I am going to enjoy following your travels.
Thanks, Cece! I’m having fun with it!
Casey, I love your blog! I cannot wait to read more. For example, I’ve been to the Palace of Fine Arts, but was not aware of the historical relevance of the building. Reading this would have given the visit more depth. You certainly have an artistic eye for beauty with your photographs too.
Thanks, Nicole! I think this is going to be fun!
